Weird
I had a little discussing last night with one of my friends who hasn't been coming to one of our finance tutorials lately... I doubt she's turned up for more than half the classes and I just found out the reason why. She said that she'd heard rumours about our tutor sleeping with his students (admittedly, he is cute - he has very pretty eyes :P) and she thought that was disgusting, therefore she didn't turn up for his classes. Maybe it's just me, but I really don't see the connection between that and not going to class, especially since there are points for class participation. I've never seen anything wrong with tutors/lecturers getting into relationships with their students, as long as it isn't so that the student gets higher marks. After all, we're in university now which basically means that we're adults and can make decisions on our own, right? Still, somewhere inside, I feel rather unsettled and disturbed... why is that, I wonder? I have always and still believed that people should be free to make their own choices... Sakubun
I am so heartily sick of writing my essay. I've been writing about so many mountains/rivers/lakes/scenery etc that I feel like blowing them up with dynamite now. *sighs* What else can you talk about when you go to Tasmania. Granted, I had loads of fun there, but it's just not showing in my essay. I don't care anymore... it's only worth 5 percent anyway. As I'm typing this, I see one of those stupid Evony ads. While I hear it's quite a decent game, I do detest the advertisements - what does a pair of breasts have to do with the game? And from what I've heard, there's 'no queen to save', so isn't that misrepresentation? | | Wednesday, October 14th, 2009 | | 4:47 pm |
Sakubun + quiz
Okay, really really have to get started on my essay writing... Only 2 weeks till exams and the essay is due on the 26th. By that time I won't have time to write it since I'll be busy studying (or I should be anyway) for Actuarial Studies. Urgh! Have to write about 6 whole days of holidays! It's going to be really really long! I hope Sunny won't mind when I ask her to correct it for me. Japanese quiz next week too >.< Ten per cent! | | Tuesday, October 6th, 2009 | | 10:03 pm |
I came home and crashed into bed for about 4 hours O.o Which is really surprising since I got about 7 hours of sleep yesterday. And I'm still sleepy right now. On the bright side, I finished my actuarial project at about 1 am today and handed it in at about 2 pm. I feel so accomplished! Hopefully, we'll get good marks on it... I think what we did was right. Also did my Japanese quiz today. I stupidly wrote 'oyako' (parent and child) as 両子 instead of 親子. I'm such a genius XD. 'Ryou' in the first one means 'both'. I was confused because of the word 両親 (parents). | | Saturday, October 3rd, 2009 | | 4:23 pm |
Yes! One last assessment! (Not counting anything Japanese)
Finally! I've finished the Excel spreadsheet for my ACTL3004 assignment. Just have to start typing up the report itself which I will start tonight. Then tomorrow, will meet my group and finish up the report.... For some reason I'm really craving KFC. I'd totally forgotten that I needed to study for my kanji dictation quiz. Also, I need to write one last sakubun but the topic is hard since it's not a factual essay - it's a narrative one that deals with expressing yourself. Very difficult... Stressed
Alright, I just finished an actuarial quiz yesterday and I have my Japanese interaction test on Friday and I need to hand in my sakubun on the same day. The week after, I have a group project due for my OTHER actuarial subject, a Finance assignment due on Monday and ANOTHER actuarial quiz on the same day. I'm so dead. I need to finish my sakubun by tonight and get my friend to read through it and correct any errors. Then I need to get started for my finance assignment (which imho is a hell lot of work for something that is worth only 7.5%). Grr... I hate the weeks that come after week 7. By the time I finish all my assessments next week, I'll have precious little time to study for finals. Current Mood: stressed | | 11:05 am |
Death of Crayon Shin Chan's mangaka
A friend alerted me to the fact that Yoshito Usui, the creator of Crayon Shin-chan is now dead. He had been missing since September 11 and on Saturday morning, his body was discovered below a cliff at Mount Arafune, where he'd gone hiking. The police said that he had died from the fall. He was 51 years old. Now, while this series isn't really one of my favourites, it's one of the earliest manga I've ever read and brings back many memories. His death was a great loss, he had many fans who will undoubtedly miss him. Rest in peace, Yoshito Usui. Current Mood: sadCurrent Music: Regret - Mai Hoshimura |
